how do you clean o2sensor on 250 saltwater series 98,99

soak it and the tube behind it in a carb cleaner solution overnight, just dont let the solution go over the top half of the sensor as it can damage it.

You'll need the new gasket for the sensor mount (p/n 68F-W1135-00-00 ($13)), and use a good torque wrench when you reinstall all the bolts so everything is evenly torqued. You can remove the O2 mount block and then place it in a vise (don't damage the mating surfaces...) and unscrew the O2 sensor with a 22mm open wrench. After a good cleaning test the sensor with a propane torch and digital volt meter (explained in the article...) to see if it's working satifactory or you need to replace it...).
