Convert 20 in shaft to 25

Anyone do this? Would it be possible to put a sleeve on the 20 in shift shaft to make it work with the 25 lower unit? Trying to avoid pulling powerhead.

I was thinking of cutting the shift shaft then using stainless tubing that would slide over the shaft to elongate using plenty of overlap. Either welded or JB Welded together.

Forget that idea....I see Bay Mfg. makes a 5in extension. Now if I can get all the exhaust housing to powerhead bolts out, I'll be in business.

Check with Bay manufacturing, Yamaha they may have a kit.
