Fuel Problems Yamaha TLRD 40

Went to winterize motor today and it would not start. Used fresh fuel, got good prime pressure and no start. Use some ether and it started fine and ran about 10 secs. In my logic this sounds like a filter filter or fuel pump problem. Any help would be appreciated.

sounds like water in the carbs or clogged carbs.
also sounds like someone wants to pop a piston with ether.
dont use starting fluid in a two stroke.

Thanks for the tip on ether. How do I check/clears the carbs?? Motor has sets for some time after running fuel out

Take them apart completely and clean properly
Make sure you follow the link and sync procedure in service manual when you reinstall
