  • water inlet cover question??

I took off my water intake cover the other day to clean out some grass and I noticed that two of the rows of little holes were plugged up with some kind of hard plastic. Does anyone know if it is supposed to be like this and if so why? Just wondering if I need to get a new cover or if this one is ok. It does not seem to be affecting water pressure in anyway. The motor is a 4 stroke
    115hp.
Here is the part number if that helps. Yamaha 688-45215-02-00

might be some minor flaws in the injection molding of the plastic...might try to cut through that thin film to open up?...or maybe if no problem just leave it alone. Could compare your cover to the cover on similar motor to see if they're the same?
