I am about to buy a 2003 70 2-stroke, the motr has a tiller so i need to get controls. I see that this motor takes 703 controls, but the johnson i have now has the controls underneath the console, so I don't want side mont controls. can 704's be used inplace of the 703. i dont mind if i have to make a hole for the key.

704 controls will work, will also need key switch and main harness. -
they do work. but now i have another question. how can I shorten the distance of the to controls to full throttle. I want the forward motion when it is 3/4 of the way to full throttle, to actually become full throttle. I have a gps/depth finder mounted on a bracket I made and want full throttle to be right at the bracket.Comment
