  • Help Popit valve question

Im working on a 2006 300HPDI for the first time..I had a little concernes about the pee pressure so I just did impeller (complete) checked thermostates both opened at 140 deg. just pulled popit valve and the grommet thats in there shouldnt it be pressed in there and holding to the hole lip? mine was just held in by mushroom? is that right? wrong? and how long should spring be?
    Thanks..Anyone??

It should fit over that lip in housing to keep it in place.

      popit

And make a seal and allow water to flow..prob hard to get good flow with that grommet floating around infront of the mushroom? thats what I thought,Its all hard and distorted. I hope that was my smoking gun in this weak pee scenario? because all else checked fine?

Use wire brushes, 3M pad to clean the housing area of calcium, salt, mineral deposits and carefully insert that new rubber grommet over the lip. Be careful to not accidently push the grommet past that lip and lose it inside motor. Good Luck!
