    Only God can answer that.....
You can wait for his answer, or simply check to be sure.....
    1 - 3 seconds can be another mans 30 - 40 seconds.....

      impeller

The boat/motor is kept in a slip and was used earlier that day.Since I come in the slip and tilt the motor up when I tie up at the slip, isnt there residual water still in the lower unit that could have protected or at least lubricated my impeller during the accidental start up?1-5 seconds tops.I plan on inspecting and changing the impeller next week(its about due anyway).I just wonder since the tell tale is streaming fine can I run her for now?

I would say go for it, if is had been sitting for a long time then it may have hurt it, but if you get some type of alarm then you know
