  • Proper way to flush a 2 stroke? Drain Carbs?

I just bought a new boat with a 90hp Yamaha. I have heard from several people that they flush the motor for 5-10 minutes then disconnect the fuel line and let the motor run till the motor runs out of fuel? Is this recommended? I never ran my motorcycles (2 strokes) out of fuel because it could scare the cylinders with no oil present. When I told them this they said its oil injected and it would not be a problem. I can only take the boat out about once a month and I really don't want to leave the carbs full of gas that long. If it's not good to run the motor out of gas how would you suggest I drain the carbs? Thanks

You need to run fuel stabilizer in gas and that will help keep gas from going bad. You can disconnect fuel line run engine out of gas, but it wont get all the gas out. Fuel stabilizer should work if it is only for 1 month
