  • Water Leak from Spark Plugs

Hey guys I got a 40 Yamaha that was originally an 87 but had to buy a powerhead due to a thrown rod and so forth. Bought a full gasket kit and put it together with a new crank (bad bearings) and used El Manuel to do it with torques and all that good stuff. We cleaned off the gaskets and stuff from the powerhead and all and now after putting it all together it fired right up but has water leaking from spark plug holes. She has dang good compression and is peeing like a champ. Any ideas? I heard it was probably the head gasket but hell it's brand new straight out the pack.

More than likely the water cooling jacket.. the bolts usually break when you loosen them make sure they all intact.

Did you resurface the heads to make sure they were flat and true?

      Maybe they are cracked?

Did you torque in steps and proper sequence like manual states?
