  • Vmax won't accelerate

Have a 2003 Yahama Vmax ox66. Was driving along at about 55mph when the engine just came to an idle. When I hit the throttle the engine would just rev as if it's in neutral. The engine appears to be fine. Stops and starts fine and the gauges read normal. Can put it in forward and reverse and the propeller turns. When I hit the throttle it doesn't go and I can hear the engine reving. Is this a transmission issue? Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you spun the hub in prop. they can be repaired by prop shop or buy new one.

But your statment(" Was driving along at about 55mph when the engine just came to an idle") does not make any sence to me as the motor should have went to high RPMs and boat came to a stop or low speed if prop spun

Yes, the boat did come to a stop. The prop still spins in forward or reverse. Will that happen if I spun the hub? Thanks for your reply!
