  • Analog Tach Rigging

I'm rigging a 2004 Yamaha 200 hp 2-stroke HPDI (TXRC) and I can't get the oil lights / alarm to work correctly. I purchased the wiring harness adapters to convert the old round plugs to the new square plugs. All 3 of these adapters plugged in w/o problems, but when I turn the ignition on, the alaram goes off and all of the oil lights are off. The sub and remote oil tanks are both full. Any ideas?

How old are the gauges? I'm not sure those real old ones are fully compatible with the HPDI or the newer motors. You may need to pickup a set of new gauges off Ebay or something. The adapters are just on the gauge ends right? The harness is new?

Where did you get the adapters? I swapped 1986 200's for 1996 250's and am having difficulty finding out how to run the wiring. Any help is appreciated.

The tach's I have worked on the 1986 Yamaha 200's, so I presume they are 1986 tachs. Does anyone know if they will work on the 1996 250's?
