I recently bought a 2000 Cape Horn 24OS with twin 200 HPDI's and the previous owner had upgraded teh tachs to the round digital ones but had no fuel management on it. I have an opportunity to buy the round fuel management gauge with sending units and harnesses from a guy that is repowering and selling off his rigging stuff. My question is if I install the fuel management package and I only have tachs and no speedo , exactly what will the fuel management gauge tell me as far as consumption? I really want mpg but without it knowing how fast I am going what can it possibly tell me regarding the fuel I am burning? I have two Lowrance HDS units on the boat that give me GPS speed, can they easily be tied into the Fuel Management gauge? Any help would be much appreciated.
