• Trim & Tilt on 1999 F100

I can trim my motor up but it slowly comes back down. When I'm running the boat, I have to continuously keep trimming the motor up. It did jam in the up position once up after I held the switch on in the up and down positions, it released. I also tried to adjust the release screw on the left side (looking forward) of the motor and it appears to be seized.

I've used the search function before posting and have read about a service manual. Does anyone know where I can order one?

Thanks,

David

Yes, got to www.yamahapubs.com
You should be able to find it there. They ship fast. I had mine in a week.

David,
Sounds like one of the check valves in the hydraulics/pump has some trash stuck under it. I would try going thru the procedure for bleeding air from the t/t system that is in the Yamaha manual.
The bypass/release screw may have reverse threads - some open by turning cw and some ccw. There should be an arrow around the hole indicating which.
Good luck ,
