that knock could be as simple as the O2 sensor draw tube to a bad bearing.
mechanical damage cannot be fixed by adding oil.
I send my injectors to flagship marine in punta gorda FL.
very good folks.
however if there is already mechanical damage its damaged.

Rodbolt17, can you explain some on the O2 draw tube knock.
And what would be the best way to check out the motor.
Would it make any sense to check for play in bearings with a dial indicator through the plug hole on piston tops?

Or just open up the motor to inspect?

if the draw tube becomes clogged or lose in the tube bore it sounds exactly like a wrist pin knock.
yes it may be wise to test the rod,wristpin bearing play before teardown.
but mechanical damage never heals itself and only gets more costly the more its run.
