  • Command Link Plus - Fuel level question

    Hello:
The Command Link Plus Multifunction Display does not appear to output the Fuel Level info from the tank sensors to the CL Plus Gateway/NMEA2000. Fuel level does show correctly on the CL Plus MF Display.
All other engine data is being fed out via NMEA200 except for fuel level.

The Install Instructions provided with the Gateway indicate that it will pass Fuel Level data through to the NMEA2000 output.
Can someone confirm if there is some setting in the CL PLus MF Display to allow it to pass Fuel Level data onto the bus and thereby out of the Gateway?

    Thanks for the help.

No it wont, The Yamaha Display gets fuel level data by way of the fuel senders in gas tank, which is an analog signal and Display does not output analog signal to gateway. The NMEA 2000 network requires a Digital signal from tank sender so would have to replace tank senders with nmea 2000 network compatable senders but then Yamaha display would not show fuel level.

      Fair enough.

So that means that if you had a second control station, like on a flying bridge, then you wouldn't see the fuel level show on the second CL Plus MF Display. Correct?

      Any way around this?
Seems like a bit of an oversight on Yamaha's part, imnsho.

The display unit connects direct to fuel senders(not thorough network) and if had a second display could still connect to senders.

So it would be ok to connect 1 sender to 2 CL Plus MF Displays in parallel?

Not something I would recommend, but could do it. Why do you need fuel level readings at both stations.
