  • EPA fuel gas caps

With portable plastic fuel tanks in the back of a Boston Waller, an 18 & 6 gal. I was thinking I could cut down on gas fumes by installing these new caps. They seem to work by not letting air out but only in. I am not liking what this is doing to my tanks. They look like pressure vessels. One can press the relief button on the cap but I have to ask is this pressure ok? At lake Havasu things get hot around here, the tanks are shaded by a cover on a 17' Super Sport. Thinking of putting back the old vented cap on the 18 gal tank.

think about how it is pressurizing the whole fuel system, if you develop a leak some where it will dump the whole tank into the boat.

I had a primer bulb split open by a 6 gal metal tank sitting in the sun pressuring up on a old joneyrude
