  • Yamaha motors and AGM batteries

I was just told by a yamaha service dealer that yamaha motors do not like AGM batteries and suggested that I go with an Interstate Marine battery.

I have just purchased the Bass Pro XPS dual use AGM battery to use as a cranking battery and to run minor accessories.

Was curious if his advice was sound?

    Thanks,

Yep, I heard the same thing. Believe it has to do with the charge coil.

      Agm

      Hey guys,
now you got me worried! I have been using an AGM battery on my 2001 25hp 4 stroke since I bought it new. I am on my second battery now and getting ready to replace it, just cause it's more then 5 years old. Anyone with factual info on AGMs and yiammies?
