hello everybody. my engine does not seem to want to start unless i tilt it out of the water. my co-worker has the same motor and the same problem. the carbs are clean, fuel filter is clean, new fuel line and spark plugs, any ideas?

too much back pressure while in water, maybe motor is shot
Have you checked compression?
Might see if it is loosing spark, but do not see how putting in water would cause that -
Does the motor do anything when it is in the water? Does it try to crank or fire? problem with yamaha 25
it seems to want to start but wont until i lift it out of the water. as soon as it starts it seems to run fine. i can leave it down all day and most times it will start while down in the water. next day same thing, have to lift it up again.Comment
