New or Repower Question?

I had my Whaler repowered with a Yahama F225 4 stroke back in 09. The dealer said it was a new motor and I paid new motor price. I just found you yesterday that the motor might be a reconditioned motor. How can I find out if it was new or reconditioned?

If you got the serial number to the motor then you may be able to contact the manufacture and they may can tell you, or you can possibly go thru the DNR to see if it was ever registered in someone else's name. I would think you could come up with something that way. And if it was used before and u paid full price I would go after the dealer for my money!
