  • Link specs 1997 C60

I am trying to do a linkage setting on my 1997 60hp Yamaha.

I have the official Yamaha service manual and it says the the length of the throttle sensor control link (the link connected to the control module) should be 129mm. If I set it to that, there will be 1 thread holding it together. It was about 112mm to start with.

For the throttle came length, the manual says 58mm, and it is about 97mm and cannot get a short as 58 at all.

Is there anyone who can verify these specs?

    TIA

Thanks, those numbers seem much more realistic.

From the book, I cannot tell if the length of the throttle sensor control link is measured from the center of the hole in the plastic end to the end of the rod, or to the center of the bent rod end. It's only 1-2 mm difference, so it probably is not a big deal.

Any reason why the numbers are wrong in the Yamaha book from boats.net?

      Appreciate the help.

Correction - Parts were from boats.net, not the manual.

        Sorry.

Are you sure it is a factory manual for your motor or is it an aftermarket one?

Measurement id from center to center. Must be a misprint in manual.

99yam40 - Yes, it is the Yamaha factory manual.

Moderator - Thanks, that's what I expected, it just wasn't clear from the picture, and I will correct my copy just in case this comes up again (in another 15 years).

I hope to go boating again soon.
