  • Yamaha oil resevoir filling problem

I have two Yamaha ox66 (1999) engines on a Glacier Bay. The port engine oil tank is not filling properly. I've cleaned all the connections and replaced the oil strainer, etc.
    - when I turn the engine on, the resevoir pumps oil to the engine tank for 30 seconds then stops, the engine tank fills a bit. If you do this 10 times or so, the tank will fill all the way.
    - the float switch at the engine works; all three positions are fine (empty/alarm, fill, and full)
    - the switch on the back of the motor will not fill the tank

I'm thinking the float switch in the boat resevoir tank is bad? But, I would think it wouldn't pump for the initial 30 seconds if this were the case? Any ideas?

The toggle switch on engine should fill engine tank(key has to be on) even if level sensor on tank is bad, here's a chart.
