Please clear confussion on which Digital Multigauge Speedometer. The motor is a 1999 OX66 SX150 fuel injection. The current speedometer is the model # 6Y5-83570-S4-00 which is working but has faded so bad it can barely be read. Bought a new 6Y5-83570-S5-00 after being told that was the new part number and would work. The wires were a perfect match...unplugged the old and intalled the new. All I got was the "Err" message on screen. Unplugged the new, replugged the old and it worked and read correctly. Repeated 5 or 6 times with same results. QUESTION: is the S5 really the correct replacement for the S4...and what could be the cause of the "Err" message? Help please...and thank you for any knowledgable advice.

Thats the correct part number, Check wire connections and dip switches are set correctly.

Thanks for your reply and diagram...I did check dip switches and old gauge works on the same wires that the new gauge will not work on. Is it safe to say the problem is that the new gauge is bad?Comment

Are you sure the red and yellow wires are connected to gauge? If so then probably a bad gauge.Comment
