  • how to fog 2003 Yamaha 4 stroke

Folks, I'm attempting to winterize my 2003 Yamaha 4 stroke outboard. I'm stumped at the part where the manual says to "remove the silencer cover" to fogg each carb..

There are no instructions on how to remove the cover, and it is really impossible to fog the engine with the cover on.

Has anyone got a clue on this one....?

    Thanks in advance.

Removing the cover is not a good idea. You can spray oil in intake of silencer cover but only a portion of oil will go into cylinders. I remove the spark plugs spray oil into spark plug hole and crank eng. over and spray more oil in, then install plugs and put in storage. The only thing you can fog on four stroke's are the cylinder, rings and valves. Not like 2 stroke where the crank, rods, cylinders, piston and rings need to be fogged.

Anyone who can help me with a step by step process for winterizing my Yam 90 (1994), I would be most appreciative. Living in CT from SW FL (where winterize means "run farther south and inland!)

      Thanks,
