Replacing Impeller SX200TXRB

Repalcing the impeller ("water pump") on my 2003 SX200TXRB (manufactured late 2002). Existing impeller shows it ran counter clockwise, is this correct?
Every single youtube vid I've seen on Yamaha's shows they run clockwise.
Boat is a single engine, 2003 230 Hydrasports 230 Center.

Impeller

I'd put the new one back in the way you found it. If you tap the starter(DO NOT START), you can see which way the motor turns, thus the crankshaft and thus the driveshaft direction to the lower unit..

The impeller "flaps" will flip back to the correct position if installed backwards...

Is it possible you have a reverse running engine with a reverse prop(for a twin application) now on a single engine vessel?

doesnt the "key" dictate which way the impeller rotates ? I just did mine and I couldnt put it on the wrong way

Key just attaches impeller to shaft, direction on shaft and impeller depends on motor turning direction.

Pretty sure all motors turn clockwise. The left hand rotation is achieved in the lower unit.
