My 02 70hp has me stumped. Idles n revs up fine then just chokes when ya get on the throttle. I have checked everything that was recomended in other posts n everything passed inspection. All linkages r set correctly n primer bulb on tank stays hard n fuel filter stays full. Carbs n reads fine. Compression n timing good. What next?

If compression, spark, and timing are good then you are left with fuel/air mix (ratio)problems (carbs).

Sounds like they may need to be adjusted.

The plastic connector on the oil pump was broke. $5 part, drove me nuts. Thanks for your help. When I try to trim up when I'm running, the alarm goes off. Kill it,restart n runs fine till I trim up again. Any idea what that's about?

Could be overheating, water pump bad, engine mounted too high, bad themostat.
Could be oil level too low in oil tank, could be bad oil level sensor.
                Regards
