i hate to ask a question on my first post, but im looking at buying a boat that has a 2000 vmax 225 on it. the powerhead was replaced in 2010 and has only been ran 14 hrs since. the boat has sit for around 1.5 years. my question is what all could possibly be wrong with this motor as a result of sitting this long? i bought a carburated motor once that had sit and it ended up throwing a piston out of the block. i know this is a fuel injected engine but i also know letting an engine sit is bad. thanks!

I would drain and clean the tank, lines, pumps, screens, and injectors. Replace all filters while you are at it.
See if you can find out what happened to the last power head and what did they do to fix what caused that PH to go out

You should also mix some oil in the fuel for the first tank. This will cause it to double oil the engine.
