  • High Speed Miss/bog down

I have a 2000 vmax 200hp ox66 3.1 fuel injection motor. The problem is after the motor has been ran some distance you start to feel a miss or a short bog down. I owned a 90's model johnson that acted similar and it was a coil, does the efi have a coil for each cylinder or is it set up different. any ideas

    Thanks

On the fuel injected motors, You need to monitor the fuel pressures to see if they are dropping while problem is occurring.
Cleaning the VST and changing filters is something that could help, but pressure testing should show if that is needed and where the restrictions are.

A Yamaha service manual and proper test equipment is a must and will help you troubleshoot and repair the motor yourself.
