• Running F115 without a thermostat

My F155 was down for a while, however the thermostat got stuck in the closed position.we removed it and was told by the shop mechanic it's ok to run it without the thermostat.

Any suggestions please

scalla,
As long as the water temp where you run is above 80 degrees, you are probably ok w/o a thermostat - but the motor is designed to run most efficiently at thermostat temp, around 135 degrees (that's for my C115 two stroke - your four stroke may be a little different). Without the thermostat, your motor will operate a little below the "designed" temp.
You should be able to take the old thermostat and clean it of any mineral deposits and maybe make it work again. Easy to test in a pan of heated water and thermometer.
In the mean time, I would go ahead and order another thermostat.
Good luck ,
