  • Timing arm wobbling around

    Yamaha 115 hp 1991
    Installed a new pulser
Now the pulser and timing arm wobble around while running
Can't remember if this is normal or not
I know it's supposed to move side to side. But it's kind of moving all over when engine is running.
Are the 4 clips/bolts supposed to hold down the pulser and the plastic base?
Or are the 4 clips/screws supposed to just hold down the little round plastic base?
Doesn't seem normal for the pulser and the timing arm to be wobbling around like that. Any help?
    Thanks
    Todd

The plastic base may be worn, make sure you have correct part number pulsor for your model number outboard.

Can you tell me if the clips ONLY hold down the plastic base?
Or do I need to get the clips up around the pulser also?
(I will check on the condition of the base and the part #... thanks for the reply!)
