  • Port head l150txrs bad threads bottom plug

The threads are slightly cross threaded. Plug still threads in but looks as though the heads aluminum threads are idk cutting away. Saw very fine metal shavings from threads on the edge of the threads on the plug. Should I just scrap the head and get another. I'm afraid of fine bits of metal from the threads to get into cylinder. The bits are very fine but I'm sure any metal in the cylinder could be bad. Anyone have a head for my motor they want to sell? Or should I just pull the head and run a chase through?

If it was me, I'd be ripping the head off and running a tap through it and then making sure the spark plug snugs up tight. (spark plugs don't need massive torque) And while it's apart you can clean out the cylinder of any metal filings. Easyish, and safest option.
