  • water in lower unit

    i have a 2002 yamaha 25hp four stroke that keeps getting water in lower unit. i have changed oil seals twice in 1 month still have water in lower unit.
    is there another way water can enter into lower unit.

    Prop shaft seals,or scored shaft drive, shaft seals or scored shaft, shifter seal, (cover), cracked housing, filler and drain plugs.

      Pump

      If you can pressurize the unit while on the bench (thru the drain or fill plug) 10-15 PSI, you can spray around all the seals/opening with soapy water and look for bubbles eminating from the unit and help narrow down the area leaking.
