  • Max RPM ?

I am running a 2004 Yamaha 50HP TLR and am trying to get the prop combination right for my tunnel hull setup. What is the max RPM I should be looking for from this motor?

The recommended range is 4500 to 5500RPM's, so best to prop motor for upper end of that, a couple of hundred over probably not going to hurt anything.

I like PowerTech wheels. Their gurus will be happy to run your rig through their software and provide guidance. I believe Yamaha recommends a clever style prop. Since two strokes fire twice as often as four strokes, they have better low end performance. I think this is why the traditional three blade props are better suited for them than the newer four blade ones.
