  • lifting power head off

    I have a 2001 200hp ox66

I have to lift off the power head

can I do this without pulling the flywheel ??

the Yamaha service manual does not say ??

Will I damage the flywheel if I use the flywheel bolt holes to lift off

    the powerhead ??

If there's no lifting ring as noted above, I'd look for two holes in the block you could bolt a lifting chain to.

If the large flywheel nut is still tightened down and there's plenty of threads in the flywheel, I wouldn't hesitate using those either. I would put a lock nut snugged down with the bolt to the flywheel just to keep from wallowing out the threads(probably not necessary).

To pop that flywheel off with the NUT REMOVED is way more than what your doing...
