Looking for year of manufature

Hi can any one please help

I recently purchased a vessel that has a Yamaha 2 stroke 50hp outboard. Within the last couple of weeks it has developed starter problems. Unfortunately I do not have a maneal or know the engines year of manufactur The info on the engine plate is as follows 50CM 6F4 Engine Number 400295.

We don't have any information on that model, we only have information on models here in the US and don't have access to non USA models.

Unless it's missing, there may be a year of manufacter decal/sticker on the right(Starboard) side of the motor bracket...Worth a look-see..Good Luck!

6F4 indicates a 1981-1983 according to

Yamaha Model Guide

[JARB]

1982 according to serial number.
