  • Timing belt

    Guys,
When I bought my 2001 F25 I was told to replace the timing belt at 400 hours. The engine is up to 500 hours now. The belt looks fine. Someone who works on Yamaha engines must know what the real deal is.
    Thanks.

Yamaha is now recommending replacing belt at 1000 hours instead of at 400 but if any doubts at all then replace it, if breaks or jumps time could result in serious damage.

The charts Yamaha sends out are listed on a thread at top of this forum and they have them listed as four stroke models.
