Yamaha 40HP Lower Unit.

Please Guys ,Hope someone can help. Can Not get Lower Unit Off. was dropping the lower unit to replace the impeller on my Dads 2002 Yamaha 40HP Four Stroke. The shift rod where the lower unit splits will not come apart after loosening the Jam/Lock nut & Barrel nut.Is this where the Shift rod comes apart to drop the lower unit? Thanks Randy

You have to unscrew the union nut until shafts separates.
