25hp yamaha c-25elrr idle problems

Just cleaned my carb, got new fuel pump and gassed up. Motor starts fairly easily but either stalls while idling or runs extremely fast. No real pattern to it: dies or screaming. I printed carb diagrams checked everything I know and now am @ a lose.

Had that problem when I changed my fuel pumps. Gasket was sucking air on the inside of the pump. Just tightened the bolts a bit more and it worked fine.
