  • What used to spray engine down...

When I used to take my engine in for service, they sprayed the external of the engine with something that protected it from corrosion. Can anyone tell me what spray they use to protect their externals from corrosion. After the rebuild, I haven't sprayed it with anything and it's starting to show. I would like to do it before it gets out of hand.

    Thanks,
    Brad

I spray mine motor under cowl with WD-40 or similar to leave a thin oily film on all surfaces. I spray my entire tilt/trim/rams/motor/pump with white lithium grease, sets up semi-hard, stays on forever, keeps saltwater from eating your T/T unit! Try the WD-40 with toothbrush to clean/remove any corrosion on motor. Good Luck!
