  • Tilt Lock Arm Replacement

I have a 1992 Yamaha 40 ELRQ outboard. It appears on my last trip out the Tilt Lock Arm broke, looks like it was pretty corroded. The two tension springs are still intact, but obviously does not have anything to grab onto from below. I know I need to purchase a new tilt lock arm but am not sure what additional parts are typically replaced while doing this (i.e. tilt lock plate, collar, cotter pin, reverse lock shaft, etc.)

Also, can this repair be completed with the engine still mounted or does it have to be removed? Do the parts come with instructions?

Will need new roll pins that hold shaft togather, any other parts would depend on whats too corroded to get apart.
