I have a 91 yamaha ob that alarmed after running 10 mins or so - took it home and found restriction in cooling water line- ran it in driveway fine for 20 mins took out and same thing ,cooling line was plugged -cleaned and still alarming only after putting in lake runs fine in drive with barrell and hose but when put in drive even idle alarm s again.any ideas where to start?

while running in the drive, there is no load, it is a pretty common thing for the coolong passages to get partially blocked, but before you start pulling things to bits, is the water pump and thermostat OK? if they have not been replaced recently, start there, from then you can start to pull all the covers and head off to start cleaning all the salt crust that will be blocking the water passages, be careful with the bolts, you will break some off.

Just from what you have told us

Are you hooking prop area up correctly with right water attachments? The hose thingy above is for flushing motor not running! Order a new water pump today! Maybe toss on some other parts you need at same time. If you read up there not that tough to do if you take your time.
