  • Powerhead removed!

    Hey folks,

The crankshaft seal on my 2000 t50 (t50tlry) was leaking oil and I removed the powerhead and seals. Aside from replacing the two seals and gaskets, does anyone recommend doing any other maintenance while I have full access to the motor?

Also is it alright that it's layed down on the oil filter side?

    Thanks in advanced!!!

No can't think of any thing you should do to it. Yes it's ok to lay engine on side.

Thanks for your input. I received the replacement seals and gaskets and noticed on the oil seal that there is what seems like a oring attached to the seal... when I pressed the seal in that additional oring shape tore off and not I'm thinking the case needs to be split to properly put this seal in...

Does anyone know how to replace this crankshaft oil seal and can clarify if the case needs to be split?

      Thanks!
