  • Gauge wiring help needed!!!

Wiring up the gauges(multi-function tach, pressure, volt, and temp) for a Yami 1988 130 ETLG. Following the wiring diagram that leaves a lot to be desired. The diagram shows a B(ground), Y(+12v key on) and G(tach send) to feed the gauges. Need help with how to series everything together. I have all the gauge B(grounds) tied together to the ground lead coming in, all the gauge Y(+12v key on) tied together with the +12v lead coming in. My question is two part: (1) Does the Y(+12v key on) need to tie to the L(back lights) to provide pwr to the lights? (2) Does the G(tach send) tie somehow to the lights? The diagram does not show the G(tach send) tied to anything else, but the wire has a factory split as if it would feed somewhere else and a description of the wire color shows it to be tach sender and lighting coil The previous owner had the green tied to the L(backlight) wires but the guages never worked so don't know if they had it right or not. Thanks in advance for any help.

The green wire only connects to tach signal wire from gauge and no other wires. best to connect the blue wires to nav light switch in boat to turn on lights in gauge.
