I'm having a problem with my 50 two stroke when I'm loading my boat on the trailer. When I increase the throttle to get the boat up on the trailer the motor stalls and dies out repeatedly. However, when I'm getting on step or running open throttle this does not happen. Anyone have opinions to the problem?

If the boat ramp is very steep the motor may going too deep in water and choking out.

The online boater course advises against the practice of motoring up onto the trailer and the only time I've seen it done was by a Valley Forge national park ranger on the Schuylkill River. From the course, the practice messes with the river bed creating problems for all.

We dump the trailer in far enough to near float the boat, kill & lift the engine as we drift on and hand winch to the stop. I then ease the trailer off the ramp watching to ensure it sets right. We've had no issues or difficulties.
