704 control adjustment

I have noticed when Throttle up that ! good amount of slack on the control before the engine accellerates and 2 when at WOT if I let go of the control it will throttle back by itself so I have to keep my hand on the throttle all the time.Is there an adjustment to take care of this?? It is a yamaha 704 control with a yamie 115hp

For the slack problem, I would check the throttle connection at the motor - sounds like the slack should be there in the linkage somewhere.
For lever tension adjustment:
1.Remove the four screws that hold the 704 cover in place and remove cover.
2.The throttle friction screw is located at the rear of the control box - turn the screw cw to make throttle stiffer, and ccw to make softer.
