  • SX250 fuel draining back ?????

2001 SX250 = I think that the fuel is draining back or "loosing prime".. History... Leaking Low Pressure fuel pump, replaced all three, all new filters including the pressure regulator filter.. Now when boat sits a few hours, the ball needs to be pumped until hard or motor will not start. (Actually will start and Idle for about 20 seconds, and die, then will not start until ball is pumped.) Is there A check valve somewhere ??

there used to be, however I usually remove them.
its not leaking back that much fuel.
the VST holds about 4 minutes of fuel,or more, at idle even if you disscnnect the fuel line.
I would check for air leaks or restrictions.
however the check valve was originally located between the engine cup filter and the lower pump inlet.

cause occasionally the oring wil swell and stick the valve and cause a lean fuel condition and smoke a piston.
gotta love the govt marine technician stimulous package.
