225 HPDI trim-tilt

I can't get my trim-tilt working since I foolishly opened the fill port with the unit under pressure. I've tried opening the man. relief valve, top off the reservoir, manually let the motor down then raise it again several times manually while topping the tank off at the top each cycle. Now, do i try to raise the engine with the motor while it is in the down position or should I try to recycle it while it is up and on the stops? Any help would be appreciated. Please walk me through it.

Hope this helps someone. I found out that you should open the bypass valve and raise the motor manually, then close the valve AND LEAVE IT CLOSED. Fill the reservoir and lower the motor (carefully-may need a hoist)aise the motor several times with the bypass valve closed and fill the reservoir at the top each time till the unit is capable of lifting itself.
