My 1998 Saltwater Series II 200hp has been very difficult to start for a year or so now. Sometimes it just won't start. Usually it will, but only if I put the throttle down in neutral for several seconds, at which time it might start rather harshly and loudly....after warming it up in neutral it may stay running, but will usually stall.
If I go for awhile...and stop the motor....it may experience the same issue a short time later. I have seen it where I stopped the motor, and could not start it five minutes later....although that is more rare.
I have changed the plugs often....and I just put in a new Sears Platinum II with 880 cca....with no improvement.
Won't start well....won't idle....fuel injectors? carb?
