  • HELP.....No power to Starter Motor.

    Hi All,

Out on the water, my starter motor did not work. It is just dead, no clicks or any other noises when I turn the key. My immediate thought was that a fuse had blown. The only fuse I can find is the trim tilt fuse on the right side just behind the starteer motor. It is good and T&T works OK.

I am wondering whether there may be another fuse box somewhere.

I am not able to find one in the wires coming from the battery to a earth on the block and the live to a point on a round domed plastic part with a similar sized wire going to the starter. I am able to get power going into this cotraption but none going from it to the starter motor. It aslso have two smaller wires coming from it.

Maybe this is what is blown.

Any help or suggestion would be most welcome.

    Cheers.

    Chris.

Don't know what motor you have but the fuses for engine are on the engine, no other place. If you start jumping wires you probably will blow a fuse, need to get battery tested, make gear shifter is in neutral, have neutral safety and ignition switch checked. Check battery cable and connections are clean and tight, check starter solenoid and starter.
