  • 150 TXRA high temp alarm

I have a 2002 150 TXRA. I am getting the high temp alarm, preceded by reduced water flow at 3400 rpms and above. Did this several times. It is definitely getting hot. Let it cool down and it runs/pees fine. Went up the river instead at idle speed. All okay. Shut it down to swim and upon restart it did not pee as soon as normal and seemed to be helped by increasing rpms. I was going to replace the water pump. Should I replace the whole assembly?

If you don't change water pumps every day buy the whole kit. In fact there's a thread on here about additional parts that should be bought because they are sometimes damaged when removing.
