Upgrade Yamaha 200, need parts compatibility advise please

Hi guys,

I had a 1992 Yamaha 200BETO 6G6 throw a con rod and now looking to upgrade.

I have access to a Yamaha Saltwater Series (2001 I think? )(L200 SETO, 6K1, X, S) which is a counter rotating model.. I have heard that the lower units are not as efficient as the R/H rotation so I was wondering if the lower unit from the 92 model is interchangeable with the 2001 model? Would like not to have to limit myself to prop selections and so forth.

Also, is the control box and throttle cables interchangeable between the two? (Mine is a 703 I believe.)

no difference in the efficancy turning left or right.
the 703 box is compatable with every v6 made except the digital electronic control models.
if the shaft lenths are the same the two lowers will interchange however the water pumps are different.
